FileFly
FileFly
Share files quickly and privately across Windows, macOS, and Linux with FileFly, a free cross-platform file transfer application built for WiFi and local networks.
FileFly creates direct peer-to-peer connections between devices on the same WiFi network, Ethernet LAN, private network, or VPN. Files move directly from the sending device to the receiving device instead of being uploaded to cloud storage or routed through a FileFly server. Your files stay on your network, and you remain in control of every transfer.
Simple setup
Install FileFly on the devices you want to connect and open the application. Nearby devices are discovered automatically, with no IP addresses to enter, accounts to create, or pairing codes to manage.
Select a device and choose the files or folders you want to send. You can also drag and drop them into FileFly. The receiving device is shown a transfer request and can choose whether to accept it.
Fast local transfers
FileFly uses the bandwidth available on your local network to transfer files quickly. This makes it ideal for moving large videos, photo collections, project folders, archives, documents, and other files without waiting for cloud uploads and downloads.
Transfer speed depends on your devices and network hardware. FileFly displays useful network and transfer information so you can see how your connection is performing.
Private by design
Your files are transferred directly between your devices and never uploaded to FileFly servers. Every device has a cryptographic identity, and trusted device keys are remembered locally. FileFly warns you if the identity of a previously trusted device changes.
Incoming transfers require approval, so files cannot be saved to your computer without your permission. Transfer history is also stored locally on your device.
Cross-platform sharing
Use FileFly to transfer files between:
• Windows and Windows
• Windows and macOS

A file sent from one operating system can be received on another without conversion, cables, USB drives, or cloud storage.
