Google Backup and Sync is a new Google service that offers us the possibility of making backups between your PC and Google Drive quickly and easily, the service is free and is offered for Windows and Mac.
Google Backup and Sync was born with the intention of replacing the previous Google Drive application.
From now on you will have all your most important files stored safely without fear of losing them because your PC breaks.
For personal and business use
If the use you give it is business, you must have a corporate Google G-Suite account (for a fee), unlike
the personal account that is completely free .
Between the Personal and the Business account we will not find great differences. A great option that we can find in the business version is File Stream, which allows us to use the Google Drive account from a folder on your desktop.
Although that account may seem like just another folder on our team, it has the advantage of not taking up space since everything we put in it is actually entered in the Google cloud.
How to use Google Backup and Sync for PC
The basic Gmail service has 15Gb of storage in the Google cloud, a fair amount to store all our photos and videos, but it serves us perfectly to store all our important documents and avoid having to always carry a flash drive with us.
If we need more capacity we can upgrade to the next 100Gb plan for just $20 per year.
To make use of
Google Backup and Sync we must log in with our Gmail account and select the folders that we want to save in our Google Drive account, it is important to know that there is no possibility of selecting individual files, we must always mark entire folders.
Lastly, we must synchronize the unit with the computer by checking the option and the program will take care of everything else. There are many more options available that will allow us to customize the synchronization quite well, the options and settings to mark will depend on the use of each one.
